Nalu v1.6.0 Release Notes:

New Features:

  1. Explicit filtering post processing.
  2. New Nalu/reg_tests/test_files/laboratory
  3. VOF wetted-wall column IC.
  4. Clean-up of non-orthogonal corrections for all edge-based schemes.
  5. Deprecation of several TPLs (see active list below).
  6. General improvements and miscellaneous changes.

Major TPLs typically used for Nalu v1.6.0 are as follows:

  • CMake: 3.23.1 (required for Trilinos).
  • YAML-CPP: 0.6.2
  • Zlib: v1.2.11
  • HDF5: v1.10.6
  • NetCDF: v4.7.1
  • Parallel NetCDF: v1.12.1
  • NetCDF: v4.7.4
  • Trilinos/develop SHA1: 4f973d287cade4c1b8e95361ff70a1c46f9ea279 (March 3rd, 2023; 2:00 Mountain).

Compilers tested for Nalu v1.6.0 include the following:

  • GCC 10.3.0
  • Intel 21.3.0
  • Clang 11.0.3 (Mac)

Open MPI tested nightly: 4.1.2 and 4.0.4 (Mac)

Deprecation:

  1. Intel 17.0.2 and Intel 19.0.3 are no longer supported due to a Trilinos upgrade to C++ standard. Please refer to older tags.
