Results of testing are not quite what I expected (I was hoping to bypass the "inventory cannot go negative" logic altogether), but the mass flows by facility look reasonable and don't appear to be violating basic mass balances.

The underlying issue here is that with the component scaledown, each component's "count" (how many units each component instance represents) means something different. One component instance can represent anywhere from tens to thousands of units (window panes, module panels). While the mass of each component instance is accurate and reflects the actual number of units in each instance, the component "count" is one regardless of how many units it represents. This, combined with the subsequent material losses that permanently alter a component's count, is causing this recurrent inventory weirdness. (Plus, the inventory error is thrown on a facility level while component movements are done on a component level - so we can see the same warning pop up for the same facility multiple times per timestep.)

I'm going to try one more thing to see if it (a) is easy to implement and (b) resolves the above issue by tracking actual component counts AND material masses without instantiating the actual number of components. I'll attempt to do this by passing in the actual number of components represented by each instance as a parameter to the Component class, and storing that value in the count attribute (self.count). The count attribute is only used for inventory tracking and component movements, not instantiating.

If I can't get this to work quickly and/or if it messes up the count results in an unexpected way, I'll shelve this effort for future development and we can proceed by focusing on the mass flow results.
