linuxPackages: bump default 5.15 -> 6.1 #215313
Conversation
Sounds good to me. I've been pretty content across multiple x86_64-linux devices with 6.1.6 and later. Needs to have an entry in the release notes! |
I'd maybe wait for the first actually-LTS release, but no particular preference. |
Looks like 6.1.10 was tagged by Greg. https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v6.x/ChangeLog-6.1.10 |

Done ! |
Nice, Linux 6.1 will become an LTS and our ZFS already supports it.... I guess I'll start to upgrade my machines to 6.1 and see how it goes... :) |

Looks fine to me, I can merge if there are no major objections.
Please let the kernel maintainers make that decision. |
I'd like to have a bit of time to test this (and others as well, perhaps we should even open up a discourse post). I still remember default kernel version updates that caused problems for e.g. everyone using Intel graphic cards :) |
Yes well that's why I only posted a comment 👍 Just dropped by because I was pinged.
Indeed, take as much as you'd like, I've been using it for quite a while now myself, which is the only reason I'm so confidant 😅 |

I don't think you need to keep fixing the docs conflict several times a day. It can be done when merging or shortly before (even by the merger). |
Ok understood. I will leave it as is now :) |
Hello everyone ! |
I had to revert to 5.15 temporarily because the AMD driver was doing weird things on my machine, however all of that seems fixed with 6.1.12. If I don't encounter any more issues, I'll give you an approval in about a week :) |
See #219455 |
Would be funny if this broke our aarch64 builders, wouldn't it? 🤡 |
