The goal of Realistic Drops is to provide a way to obtain mob drops and some other resources via crafting or smelting, using the resources obtainable on peaceful difficulty in the Overworld.

By the way, if you don't like some or all of the recipes, you can change them. Open up mod's jar file and edit the recipe json files in assets/realdrops/recipes.
