/dev/mmcblk0boot1 missing on Jetson Nano emmc?

I am trying to implement A/B upgrade scheme with swupdate on Jetson Nano with emmc on top of dunfell. I have been browsing through swupdate documentation, tegra-test-distro and nvidia and github forums and implemented most steps from this thread #842, until the the point he got the update installed for the first time. My update of the rootfs seems to be sucessful (there is a kernel message about mounting the partition as it is printed to the serial), but the bootloader update complains:

I can get rid of the fw_env.config complaints by modifying the /etc/fw_env.config file to point to the /dev/mmcblk0 device and the UBENV location defined in the flash.xml (see below, it seems to differ what's in the u-boot-tegra), but the bootloader update is still trying to operate on the /dev/mmcblk0boot1 device. There is no such device under the /dev, so it keeps puzzling me where this device should come from? Should it be visible when the linux is running and am I missing some kernel configuration?

sw-description, bootloader update scripts and the swupdate image recipe are similar to #842. I added swudpate_%.bbappend as was suggested in the thread. In addition, so far I have added tegra-bup-payload, tegra-boot-tools, u-boot-default-env to my IMAGE_INSTALL_append even if I am not completely sure of the roles of those.

What's on your kernel command line? Sounds like it's missing sdhci_tegra.en_boot_part_access=1, which tells the Tegra mmc driver to expose the boot0 and boot1 partitions.

Thanks. sdhci_tegra.en_boot_part_access=1 was missing. This really helped me forward.

By bringing some more lines from tegra-test-distro to my machine config I got the SW update to complete without errors. Probably just a coincidence and the root cause is a HW failure somewhere, but Nano did not boot after the update and flashing stopped working. Also my Ubuntu host stopped booting and I had to boot it with 'noapic' parameter. My dev kit seems pretty dead, it shows up in lsusb but no more. With our custom carrier board I can still flash but the kernel loading stops at some point, or it just stops writing messages to UART. Sounds to me that this is not anymore about the swupdate.

I will mark this question answered, try to get some new HW to figure out exactly what's wrong. I will open a new, specific question if I got stuck again. Thanks again.
