The Open 360 Camera Project was started by Dan Gray. Dan Gray is a Senior Optical Engineer at Lighthouse Imaging.

He has 8 years’ experience in the medical and industrial optics industry. In his current role he is responsible for all optical aspects of Lighthouse’s client projects. Dan obtained his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. in Optics from the University of Rochester in 2002, 2003 and 2007 respectively.

From 2007 to 2010 he worked at Optos Plc to commercialize adaptive optics retinal imaging technology as well as develop new low cost versions of Optos’ wide-field retinal scanning system. From 2010 to 2014 Dan worked at GE Global Research, developing new optical technology for high throughput fluorescence microscopes, fluorescence guided surgery, and biometric identification. He received a Six Sigma Black Belt while at GE and taught tolerance analysis to new GE employees.

Dan is an expert at lens design, image processing, opto-mechanical design, and scanning laser systems. He is a recognized expert in biomedical optics with 7 peer-reviewed journal publications and 12 granted/in process patents.
