App Privacy Policy
Read this document to understand how the Arcade App uses data. The latest version of this document is available on our GitHub page.
For information on how we use data in connection with our websites, forums, and communications, please visit the Website Privacy Policy.
In this policy, "we", "us", and similar terms refer to Arcade Labs, Inc., while "Arcade" refers to the app.
Your app store automatically checks for updates from us, and on some devices, it may automatically update the app. We do not have control over your device's app updates; however, we recommend updating to ensure you have the latest security fixes.
We monitor user downloads and updates using standard app store metrics. The app does not contain embedded marketing or data collection tools. The statistics we generate do not contain any personally identifiable information.
You can manually update to the latest version here.
The Arcade App employs NIP 112, NIP4, and an "improved NIP4 with blinded sender" to encrypt your data. Arcade does not obscure your IP address. The relay you are connected to will be aware that you are sending encrypted messages but will not be able to decrypt them.
Encrypted chat rooms do not leak information about participants or room metadata, even to the relay. Our optional Enhanced DMs also do not leak information to the relay.
Arcade allows third-party "webview delivered apps" to interact with your public key and data. We make every effort to ensure these apps function properly; however, they may potentially leak your public key in association with other data they collect. Some plugin apps may have the ability to post on your behalf. Arcade will prompt you for permissions, but it is possible that third-party applications may behave unexpectedly concerning privacy. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party applications.
If you use an Arcade plugin that requires your location (e.g., ride-sharing), you will be prompted to grant permission. If you allow access, the plugin will receive an approximation of your location based on your IP address. Arcade does not store your IP address, but the plugin might.
Arcade offers certain "premium services," including custom high-speed relays, event search indexing, and more. These services are clearly marked within the app. You can either purchase these services or opt to view ads as a form of payment. Be aware that interacting with advertising networks can lead to a significant loss of privacy. Arcade never shares your private data, chats, or summaries thereof with advertisers. However, advertisers may employ cookies, geotracking, and other methods to correlate user interests. Arcade does not engage in these activities directly and will always inform you before enabling any tracking in exchange for free services.
The Arcade Trust Service is an API endpoint allowing the Arcade app to query social trust scores. This information is collected from public Nostr events, including NIP-32 reviews. While the service does not collect personally identifiable information, we do gather aggregate data on usage patterns and effectiveness. You can enable or disable this service in the app settings.
If Arcade crashes or freezes, it generates a report that can be optionally sent tous to help diagnose and resolve the issue. This report contains technical information about your device and the event that caused the problem, but does not include data that can be used to identify you.
We use a third-party service to store these reports. You have the choice of whether to send these reports to us. You can change this preference at any time in the app settings.
The app sends us anonymous reports to help identify product issues and areas for improvement. These reports include general information such as the amount of time spent in the app and feature usage, but do not contain any personal data. You can deactivate the sending of analytics data in the app settings.
If you provide feedback for Arcade, we will use this information to improve the product. By submitting feedback, you grant us the right to use your feedback for any purpose without any obligation to compensate you.
Nightly, Dev, and Beta versions of the Arcade app are experimental previews that allow us to test new features. This helps us identify and rectify issues before releasing a new version of the Arcade app. These test versions of the app may automatically send crash reports or additional analytics to Arcade, which may contain personal information.
You can disable the "Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports" option in the settings. The production version of the app does not automatically send crash reports.
While we strive to protect your privacy and data, transmission over the internet is not completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data transmitted; any transmission is at your own risk.
We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Your continued use of the service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact us at privacy@arcadelabs.co.
