Events

Distinct from tracking page visits, Google Analytics uses events to track interactions within pages.

For this project, resource download counts are measured by tracking when a resource link has been selected as "click" events. In order to see a detailed breakdown of events, from the left-hand sidebar, select Behavior > Events > Top Events.

In the Explorer panel, directly under the graph is a list of options after Primary Dimension:

  • Event Category
  • Event Action
  • Event Label

The resource link click events are all labeled with the link URL, so select Event Label to see which resources have been downloaded.
