Kameleon-plus 1.0.0
This is a stale fork of the Kameleon software that OpenSpace uses
Main repo is here: https://github.com/ccmc/ccmc-software

Requirements:
	cmake 2.8
	hdf5 (LFM support - optional)
	cdf3.5 http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/software/cdf/dist/cdf35_0_2/
	boost 1.54.0

Build:
	mkdir ~/Kameleon-plus-build
	cd ~/Kameleon-plus-build
	cmake /path/to/kameleon-plus
	make -j8 (-j8 speeds up compilation time):

	The above commands will put build files into a fresh directory kameleon/build
	and place the following example c++ excuteables in kameleon/examples:
		adapt3d_test  coordinate_transformation_test  IMFTest
		kameleon_prog  magnetogram_test	open_ggcm_test	time_interp
		CDFReader  enlil_test  integrator_prog  lfm_test
		mas_test  swmf_iono_test	tracer_prog

Install the CCMC python module:
	make install

Test c++ example:
	./kameleon-plus/examples/kameleon_prog /path/to/ccmc-converted/file.cdf bz -30 0 0

Test python:
	#1/usr/bin/python
	import CCMC
	kameleon = CCMC.Kameleon()
	kameleon.open("/path/to/ccmc-converted/file.cdf")
	kameleon.loadVariable("bz")
	interpolator = kameleon.createNewInterpolator()
	bz = interpolator.interpolate("bz",25,0,0)
	print "bz:", bz
	kameleon.close()

	Installation instructions for mac users:

**********Defunct Instructions for automake (Mac OSX)***********

Requirements:
	automake
	autoconf
	svn
	cdf 3.4.1
	hdf5 (required for LFM support)
	boost 1.52.0

To obtain the required packages on a mac using macports (first install macports, then use macports to install wget):
	sudo port install autoconf
	wget sourceforge.net/projects/boost/files/boost/1.52.0/boost_1_52_0.tar.gz
		--unpack and move boost_1_52_0 to Applications
	wget cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/software/cdf/dist/cdf34_1/macosX/cdf34_1-setup_universal_binary.tar.gz
		--unpack and install
	sudo port install hdf5-18

download the repository to a convenient directory:
	svn checkout http://ccmc-software.googlecode.com/svn/kameleon-plus

within kameleon-plus directory, create a configure file from configure.ac (requires autoconf and automake):
	autoreconf -fi

then run the configure script:
	./configure --with-cdf=/Applications/cdf34_1-dist/lib --with-boost-includes=/Applications/boost_1_52_0 --enable-hdf5 --with-hdf5=/opt/local/lib --with-hdf5-includes=/opt/local/include

then compile (use -j8 flag to speed up the compiling process if multiple cores are available):
	make -j8

see src/examples/ for example executables
