This pull request attemps to document the process of creating patches after the hardfork in forks and to explain the new layout.

Tip

This pr is finished now, and ready for review.

  • Document the new layout
  • Add some info how to upgrade forks from previous versions
  • Review it again to catch any mistakes
  • Add info on resource patches
  • Document tasks

Perhaps also document forking a fork situation? different pr (if wanted)

I appreciate the sentiment of this PR, but the work required to get the general structure and content to an acceptable state would be more than writing something from scratch. A README will need to wait for me or another team member to write it.
