How is Path of Building expected to behave?

I use the program on 2 computers. In the first, it works perfectly, in the second, it looks like the print.

I tried with different versions, with or without beta, but it's the same thing.

Can you give some details on the type of computer you're using? Graphics card, operating system, etc?

The computer that runs 100%:
R5 5500 - RX7600 - W10

The computer that gives a black screen:
R5 5500 - G210 (Just to give video) - W10

I thought the problem might be the graphics card, but I also thought there might be a solution.

The PoB for PoE 1 is working fine.

The core problem here is likely that the GPU (if it's a GeForce GT210) is that it doesn't support Direct3D 11.0 and instead runs our graphics engine at a lower feature level. One of the things that D3D11 introduced was the BC7 texture format which PoB-PoE2 uses extensively for tree art.

To address this, I've got a tentative fix in PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding-SimpleGraphic#74 where we now check if BC7 support is available and if not, decompress the textures on the fly at startup, reduce the image resolution by one level and give the GPU that raw image data instead.
This decompression increases VRAM usage to around 4x which is largely counteracted by halving the resolution - tree art will look slightly blurrier when zoomed in.

@Buscariolo To test this out, could you please download the SimpleGraphic-x64-windows-deps.dll and SimpleGraphic-x64-windows.dll artifacts from https://github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding-SimpleGraphic/actions/runs/14193620723 and unzip both archives directly into your PoB installation directory, replacing any DLLs that may already exist there?

The updater will complain about this and try to restore them to pristine copies, but it should suffice for this testing phase.

If the textures still don't seem to work, the console should say either using GL_EXT_texture_compression_bptc or GL_EXT_texture_compression_bptc not supported near the top. You can open the console with Ctrl + ~, the backtick/tilde key above Tab on US layouts.
