Good news​: otherwise clean install apart from test 190 and -V nonsense.
Installation using libperl.so is successful, including linkage to vim
5.4 in this format. [If you're a 'vi' user, try 'vim' (www.vim.org).
It's on my personal list of 'must have on any computer', along with
perl, of course. It's having a perl interface is a bonus.]
