Introduction ============ nprobe is a software NetFlow v5/v9/IPFIX and nFlow probe that allows to turn a PC into a NetFlow probe. It has been designed to be compact, easy to embed, an memory/CPU savvy. Mandatory Packages (Ubuntu/Debian) ================================== In order to compile nProbe on Linux you need some mandatory packages/tools. Below we list those needed on Ubuntu/Debian platforms # apt-get install build-essential bison flex linux-headers-$(uname -r) libtool automake autoconf subversion libpcap-dev wget Build Steps =========== ./autogen.sh make sudo make install NetFlow v5 ========== This is the default flow export format. NetFlow v9 ========== In order to enable NetFlowV9 it is necessary to use the -T flag that defines the template format. For instance: 'nprobe -V 9 -T "%PKTS %BYTES %TOS %IP_SRC_ADDR %IP_DST_ADDR" -n 127.0.0.1:2055'. For the list of all supported fields type "nprobe -h". You can visualize the generated flows using a recent version of Ethereal (www.ethereal.com). IPFIX ======== In order to enable IPFIX it is necessary to specify -T (as for NetFlowV9) and -V 10. Example of Collection Filtering ============================= nprobe -b 2 -n none -3 2055 -i none --collection-filter as1235 --collection-filter "\!as1234" --collection-filter "\!192.168.0.1/24" ======================================= Copyright (C) 2002-14 - Luca Deri <deri@ntop.org>
