Hello,
I'm having this issue on Yosemite, that if I do bower install --save Polymer/core-elements or bower install --save Polymer/paper-elements after a while the Cpu goes to 100%, but the command keeps frozen. I have to end it with ctrl+c.

Thanks

Hmm, not enough detail to help diagnose either error unfortunately :(

It seems like an issue with bower or maybe your node install. Try running
bower in --verbose mode - it might give more hints.

It also might be worth trying the sledgehammer approach of removing &
reinstalling bower.

Note that I am having no such problem on Yosemite. Bower is version 1.3.12. Git is version 1.8.3.2.

Bower with the --save flag did not work for me until I already had a bower.json created in my local directory - I think this is by design.

Problem solved yesterday finally! It was bower -v 1.3.3, on both machines.
