Same problem with paper-input. Nothing seems to render but one can "select" the element if you know where to click. iOS version 8.1.1 Safari and the newest Chrome on iOS with Polymer 5.1

Can you be specific where you're seeing this issue? Is it the paper-input demo?

https://www.polymer-project.org/components/paper-input/demo.html

This works fine in iOS 7. For what it's worth, the Polymer team has put a lot of time into compatibility with all of the evergreen browsers. This includes upcoming major changes (announced recently at Chrome Dev Summit) specifically to improve performance on iOS Safari.

(Note that Chrome on iOS is really just a shell around the same browser engine that powers Safari. This is because Apple doesn't allow browsers to ship on iOS with competing rendering engines.)

Most of the core Polymer team are offsite this week, so it might take a little longer than usual for bugs to get processed and assigned. Please bear with us.

OK. I can reproduce that issue in the game sample on iOS 7 as well, but it seems to be limited to the game. (I actually reported it a while back on desktop Safari, and I thought it was fixed. No such luck. However, it seems to be specific to the way Topeka is built for the website.)

Can you take a look at:

https://www.polymer-project.org/components/paper-input/demo.html

And let me know if those look OK to you on iOS 8?

Ok, maybe #Topeka isn't updated to the latest version of Polymer, could
someone check for it?
Maybe by checking the css with Chrome Developer Tools of Firefox's DT?

Thanks. Just updated my personal device to 8.1 so I can see what everyone else is seeing.

The Topeka problem appears to be some kind of bower issue; I believe it's getting the wrong dependencies. So far I haven't been able to get the right bits onto the site, but we'll keep working on it.

Update: it appears the Topeka issue is actually related to the vulcanize tool. The unvulcanized version of the app works for me on iOS 8:

https://www.polymer-project.org/apps/topeka/index.html

Disclaimer: load time is extremely long on the unvulcanized version

So it's also a main problem for HTML5 based apps?

This is fixed in master, cutting 0.5.2 with the fix now.

Site is updated to 0.5.2, text inputs in Topeka appear to be working fine with Safari on iOS 8.1.1.

If you see any other issues, please let us know.
