I was wondering, why have there been no new releases since late 2022? Are there any plans to make a new release?

Hey! Unfortunately there are not that many active contributors around… It is something I keep in mind to do at some point in the future. But the thing is that at the moment it is even hard to get a review for PRs…

Alright thank you for that information. I hope that you will be able to sort things out

See also #6747.

emilazy added a commit to emilazy/nixpkgs that referenced this issue Nov 25, 2024
Includes fixes for newer versions of GCC and Boost and obsoletes our
patch and most of our flags.

Upstream has not cut a relase tag in over two years. They have
signalled a desire this year to cut a release but have limited
resources:

* <Project-OSRM/osrm-backend#6747>
* <Project-OSRM/osrm-backend#6778>
* <Project-OSRM/osrm-backend#7028>

The NixOS test passes, so I think this should be okay and leave this
package in a healthier state than it is currently in.
