error MW004 Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\windows\Start Menu\Programmes' is denied

Hello,
I have an error message that appears when I run the exe (see attached image)

The error tells me that it does not have access to the path "...\Programmes" but in my files, it is written "\Programs". I don't know if this is where the access denied issue comes from.

If so, where should I change this in Work_by_speech?

Hi,

Try installing Work by Speech to "C:\Program Files\Work by Speech". Before installing it again, uninstall it first by going to "Start -> Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall a Program" (find "Work by Speech" on the list and click Uninstall).
After that, try to run Work by Speech by going to "C:\Program Files\Work by Speech" and running "Work by Speech.exe".

Also make sure that you're using the latest Work by Speech version (2.1) which can be downloaded from here:

If that doesn't help please tell me what Windows version are you using?

I followed all your instructions to the letter and I still get the same error message.

I also tried to install it in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Work by Speech" and still the same error message.

For windows version:

I copied/pasted the path indicated in the error message into my explorer

and it gives me the following message:

It says that the "Location is not available". This is why I think there is a problem with the spelling of the word "programs or programMEs"

If you go to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu", do you see a folder named "Programmes" there?
Work by Speech reads all files names in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" and subfolders, so you granting access rights to "Programmes" folder should solve the issue or you can try using special version of Work by Speech - I added link to it below (just copy the file to where Work by Speech is installed and replace).

In the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu", i have a folder named "Programs" not "Programmes" and access rights is granted.

Version 2.1 finally started to work or only version 2.1.1 which I uploaded in previous post works for you?

If version 2.1.1 resolved this issue, then next update will resolve it too.

Access denied error can only happen if there is a folder named "Programmes" in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu".
It may be hidden. You can turn on showing hidden folders for this path by going to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu", from the top menu choose View -> Options -> View amd select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" then click ok.

version 2.1.1 fixed the problem.

in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" I have a folder called "programs" and "Show hidden files, folders and drives" is already selected.
When I try to create a folder called "programmes" with 2M, it tells me that the file already exists. I don't understand anything about it.

Anyway, my problem is solved and I thank you once again.

ps: I have already been able to configure some views in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Changing views by voice is much easier and better than key combinations.

I'm going to see if it's possible to create checklists, that would be great.

I just encountered a small problem with the control key when I use it, it is by default the right control and not the left.
I haven't seen anything in the User Guide to add keys to the suggestions.

Users cannot add more keys to "Add New Key" list.

Edit: I had to remove those keys for now, because that messed up macro recording.
