It might be worth renaming this to Unlock video qualities, since the spoofing of dimensions is vague and makes little sense why they would want that. It would make the settings much simpler to understand as well.

Each patch should be named after what it really does, otherwise, for example in this case, it may look like it does unlock video qualities and nothing else which would hide the fact that it spoofs the device dimension which could come with side effects. An example side effect that occurred a while ago was that community posts were missing. While this may not occur today anymore, its an example of why each patch should be true to its name. Instead the description can be used to explain effects of the patch such as unlocking video qualities which is the actual side effect most people would be interested by the spoof.

The AV1 rollout is affecting the official unpatched app as well, they pushed that codec even for devices can't correctly handle it, especially in shorts. It's a Google/YT issue, not the patch's.

But yeah, it's true the patch unlocks resolutions a device may not handle properly, but that has always been the case with it, note that there's a huge bug where shorts are locked to 480p in some powerful enough to play 1080p devices like some FHD tablets, and 720 in some phones, and that's because the way in which the app collects data about the device screen dimensions or by how the hardware info is displayed on the device.

For example YT is locked to 1080p in normal videos for my phone, but it can play maximum 1440p, this patch unlocks it, but 2160p is unlocked too, which my phone can't play properly, so I just set maximum quality to 1440p in revanced settings and everything is fine.
