Fake News Detection Chrome Extension

This is a Chrome extension that allows users to detect whether a news article is real or fake.

Installation

To install the extension, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the repository or download the source code.
  2. Open Google Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions.
  3. Turn on "Developer mode" using the toggle switch in the top right corner.
  4. Click the "Load unpacked" button and select the folder containing the source code.

Usage

To use the extension, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to a web page containing a news article.
  2. Click on the extension icon in the top right corner of the Chrome window.
  3. Enter the text of the article into the text box.
  4. Click the "Predict" button to determine whether the article is real or fake.

Flask App

To run the Flask app, follow these steps:

  1. Install Python 3.x on your system.
  2. Install the required packages using pip: pip install -r requirements.txt
  3. Run the Flask app: python app.py
  4. Navigate to http://localhost:5000 in your web browser to access the web interface.
