⚡ Power consumption

Kryschtzyk edited this page Oct 14, 2022 · 1 revision

The following page deals with the energy balance of the individual components.

The ESP32 has different modes to manage its power consumption. These modes are listed here:

image

Mode Power Consumption Deactivated Component
Active Mode 160 ~ 260 mA None
Active Mode only Listening 80 ~ 90 mA Only Listening
Modem Sleep 3 ~ 20 mA WiFi / BlueTooth / Radio / Peripherals
Light Sleep 0.8 mA WiFi / BlueTooth / Radio / Peripherals [ESP32Core Paused]
Deep Sleep 10 µA WiFi / BlueTooth / Radio / Peripherals / ESP32Core

The following energy sources can be used:

Power Source Power Time running (Modem Sleep) Time running (Deep Sleep)
AA ~ 3000 mAh 150h 300000h
AAA ~ 1100 mAh 55h 110000h
CR2450 560 mAh 28h 56000h (6 Years)

However, only the deep sleep is taken into consideration here. It must still be measured how much energy is consumed to send/receive 4 requests per day. Likewise, the energy consumption of the humidity sensor has not yet been included here.
