Use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (scalingo-24) as default base image

Hi,
Some new versions of dependencies of my company project are only available starting from ubuntu 24.04 (libglib2.0-0t64, libgirepository-2.0-dev), i'm a bit surprised this version is not the default one yet nor available according to stack documentation,

Could the scaligo-24 be released to public available stack ?

We are currently actively working on adding a scalingo-24 stack, based on Ubuntu 24.04. You can subscribe to our changelog page (https://doc.scalingo.com/changelog) to be notified when it's released. It should be released in the coming weeks.

I noticed scalingo-24 image was released but not as default yet, I wanted to use the scalingo.json way of migrating to this new stack but it seems this way is only available for review apps, could it be possible to have this way for normal apps ? as we would like to progressively role out stack upgrade directly from our application code, a bit like the behaviour of .python-version

This is indeed not possible to use the scalingo.json manifest to update the parent app stack. Our migration guide to a new stack is here. You can set the new stack on an application with:

scalingo --app my-app stacks-set scalingo-24

We suggest you test this stack on a review app or a staging app.
