Incremental Exam: Links/Buttons 6. Links and Buttons Link/Button Related Changes 6B

Tried many combinations on retake after giving up. ANDI notes that 1 link is vaguely labelled on 1 iteration of retake, but nothing seems otherwise wrong. My thinking, but it’s not right based on the test:

  • About link is vague and moves user within the web page, so it may be a FAIL
  • AD button is unclear and meaning and appears not to do anything, so it may be a FAIL I’ve tried the above and the exam still rejects the answers.

DNA links/buttons

  • Request an Audit (top/bottom)
  • Play
  • Pause
  • Forward
  • Rewind
  • CC
  • Enable/Disable updates (when they show) There are no structural tables or live regions to affect this test outcome. Could we please walk through it?

ANSWER: Suggest you review all of topic 6.B in the course. The AD button on a media player is to provide an audio description of the video content. There is not an unexpected change of context when this button is selected. An example of an unexpected change of context: a page has a button labeled “Find a Zip Code” and when you select the button, a short message displays beneath the link about the history of the use of zip codes. This is not what you expected to see based on the button name and no zip code help is provided. Be sure to walk through the test steps when you encounter something you think is unexpected when an interactive element is selected.
