MHS35 display unresponsive

I've been testing a few different ILI9486 displays late, this one doesn't seem to respond,

The dtoverlay for the display refers to ili9486, chips are unmarked.

The LCD_Show project drives the screen as a framebuffer... but python/PIL is really needed on my end.

I'll hack on it, but I thought I'd run it by you to see if it was something simple/obvious.

Sorry to hear that, but I am afraid I am not really able to help you here.
I remember using the same LCD-show project for initial testing of my display. My one is this version. The documentation tells to use the LCD35-show, while the display you are using has an own script which is mentioned in the wiki, the MHS35-show.

As far as I understand, the LCD-show works for you and your display, but did you use the LCD35-show or MHS35-show? Even though the wiki article states it also uses the ILI9486 and also the same pinout, they must be different enough to justify a different script or config in this repository.
