Welcome to the SpokenWeb U Alberta wiki!

The SpokenWeb U Alberta team built our project site using Jekyll, adapting and customizing the minimal computing workflow created by Wax/Minicomp to be suitable for audio collections. Our goal was to design a site that was both lightweight and easy-to-maintain, even by researchers with limited programming knowledge.

The following wiki is a layman's guide to maintaining our website (or any Jekyll site) directly on GitHub, which walks-through how to create and edit exhibit and event pages, no computing expertise (or additional software) required.

Are you a SpokenWeb team member, learning to create and edit Git Pages for the first time? Visit the SpokenWeb U Alberta sandbox, a copy of the site built specifically for training purposes.
