Content Tab Image

The content tab is used to view/backup/restore/copy/delete Sumo Logic Dashboards/Searches/Scheduled Searches/Lookup Tables.

The content tab has three modes to choose from which are:

  1. Personal - This mode shows the contents of the personal folder for the user who's API key is being used as credentials.
  2. Global - This mode shows allows you to see the personal folders of all users. This only works if you have administrative rights to do so. Copy is disabled when in the root Global folder but you may copy anything inside user folders.
  3. Admin Recommended - This mode allows you to see the contents of the Admin Recommended folder. This only works if you have administrative rights.

Include Connections Option: When copying a scheduled search (or a folder containing a scheduled search) this option (on by default) will cause any connections used by that scheduled search to be replicated to the target org. If this is unchecked then the connection dependency will be removed from the scheduled search during the copy. Since scheduled searches must have an alerting option this will result in the scheduled search being transformed into a regular (not scheduled) search.

Find/Replace/Copy Button: This button will export the selected from the source org, search that content for _sourceCategory tags, then query the target org for _sourceCategory tags in recent use. Finally it will present a dialog that will allow you to replace some or all of _sourceCategory tags in the content with new ones in the target org. This is useful as different orgs may have different metadata naming conventions.

When copying to the special FILESYSTEM: region the resulting file will always contain any connections associated with exported scheduled searches. The "Include Connection" option will be applied when copying the file TO a Sumo Logic org.
