Turns out there was a game-breaking bug lurking in the mod for a while that was never reported. I think it's both the dumbest and most severe bug in the mod to date, so... that's embarrassing.
- Fixed centrifuges causing the chunks they're in to not save. Because I forgot to register the block entities. Like an idiot.
Additionally:
- Fixed centrifuge outputs being reversed when the centrifuge points east or west.
- Made Philosopher's Stone formulas spawn in fewer types of chest, so hopefully they're not as annoyingly common.
1.0-rc1: Probably Stable
Art of Alchemy is finally nearing a state I'm happy with, so I feel comfortable putting out a release candidate! Here's what's changed:
- #20: Comparators can now detect the alkahest level of Dissolution Chambers and Projection Altars, and the essentia level of Essentia Tanks and Synthesis Tables.
- #28: Fixed the Synthesis Table listing requirements even with no target item.
- #29: Fixed conduits moved by pistons not updating the essentia networks, resulting in strange behavior.
- #30: Fixed essentia tanks not rendering on the new Fabulous graphics settings.
- #31: Fixed "unknown recipe category" console spam on world load.
- Migrated from containers to screen handlers.
0.7: And We're Back
I'd like to apologize for the long delay in updating this mod to the latest version. I've had some mental health problems as of late, and while that's still a pressing concern for me, I wanted to at least get AoA up to the pre-releases so it can be ready for the 1.16 release. Thank you for your patience!
Not many changes this release, since I wanted to get the port out as soon as possible:
- Adds Korean localization, thanks to @mindy15963
- Removes filtered essentia vessels (which were already deprecated)
- Updates to the 1.16 pre-releases; there were quite a few technical changes, so let me know if anything broke

0.6: Config & Compat
- Adds configuration options for a variety of properties, so packmakers can balance the mod as they see fit. Works through ModMenu.
- Adds recipes for all raw resources (ingots and gems, excluding alloys) in Cotton Resources, as well as nickel from TechReborn.
- Adds Chinese localization, courtesy of @qsefthuopq. (Thank you!) Unfortunately, I will be unable to keep this localization actively maintained in the event that more localization keys are added.

- The basic version of the Synthesis Table can now only synthesize up to Rank C.
- The basic version of the Calcination Furnace has been slowed down somewhat.
- Adds the legendary Philosopher's Stone. But how do you get it?
- Adds upgraded versions of the Calcination Furnace, Dissolution Chamber, and Synthesis Table.
- All three are twice as fast, and are crafted with the Philosopher's Stone.
- The Calcinator has double the fuel efficiency.
- The Calcinator and Dissolver have full recovery rate rather than half.
- The Dissolver and Synthesizer have twice the tank space.
- The Synthesizer can synthesize with all ranks of materia.
- Adds the Projection Altar, which also requires a Philosopher's Stone to craft. It upgrades materia to higher ranks using alkahest.
0.4: Centrifugal Force
This release adds Essentia Tanks, Astrological Centrifuges, and Elemental Centrifuges. Essentia Tanks hold 8000 units of essentia per block, and can be stacked to form multiblock-like structures. When used in this manner, you should pull essentia from the bottom and insert at the top. As with other containers, Essentia Tanks will mix any essentia inserted into them.
To separate essentia, you can use the new centrifuges. Insert essentia into the top or bottom, and it will be split into the four cardinal directions. The Astrological Centrifuge separates essentia by the type of celestial body it is associated with (Ξ - void, Α - inner planets, Β - outer planets, and Γ - other bodies). The Elemental Centrifuge separates essentia by the classical element is is associated with (🜂 - fire, 🜁 - air, 🜄 - water, and 🜃 - water; void will not be processed). Centrifuges can be rotated with the "use" key.
0.3.1.1: Pipe Dreams, Revision 1, Hotfix 1
This release fixes some bugs with essentia networks, and improves their performance relative to 0.3.0. Please note that 0.3.1.0 had significant problems, and if you downloaded it during the short time it was available, you should update ASAP. I apologize for the trouble :(
0.3: Pipe Dreams
Art of Alchemy 0.3 adds essentia networks to the game! This allows you to automate the transport of essentia between your machines in a much easier fashion than fiddling with vessels, dispensers, and hoppers. Use Essentia Conduits (crafted from gold, basalt, and azoth) to build the network, and then connect it to machines using Essentia Ports. There are three types of Essentia Ports: passive, pressurized, and evacuated. Passive ports (the default kind, in purple) allow essentia to be both inserted and extracted, but only by other elements of the network - it won't do anything on its own. Pressurized ports (in orange) extract essentia from a block (like a Dissolution Chamber) and inject it into the network. Evacuated ports (in blue) extract essentia from the network and inject it into a block (like a Synthesis Table). To add a port to a network, just use one on a conduit. If you use a conduit's side without a port in your hand, that side will switch to blocked mode and not connect to other pipes. Using a side that has a port or blocker on it will remove it.
0.2: Taking Notes
Adds the Alchemical Journal and recipes for most vanilla raw resources. The mod is nearly ready for a 1.0 version!
Since I forgot to release 0.1.0: Automatic Beyond Belief on GitHub, vanilla-style automation has been added since 0.0.0, as has transmutation formulae.
