@trishaoconnor efficiently standardized just about every double-hyphen in the Guidelines (wow!), but @sydb discovered that these thorough edits were a bit too thorough in some cases, particularly where applied to CMC examples as noted here:

#2155 (comment)

So I'm opening this ticket to put a few of those back to their original form.

For issue #2155, I changed double hyphens to em dashes and committed the changes to dev to the following files within Source/Specs/*xml:

  • att.cmc.xml

  • att.indentation.xml

  • post.xml

<term>Français (langue) -- Style -- Bases de données.</term>
  • taxonomy.xml

<view><camera>馬克思的視點</camera> 他看見一些打開的窗戶,而就在他公寓對面,有一個<hi>男子</hi> 正打開富麗堂皇的大門。--</view>

There were also some date ranges that had double hyphens instead of en dashes, so I have updated those instances accordingly within this ticket also (if there are objections, let me know and I can revert):

  • locusGrp.xml
<locus from="13" to="26">Bl. 13--26</locus>
<locus from="37" to="58">37--58</locus>
<locus from="82" to="96">82--96</locus>

Also, I changed double hyphens to em dashes in the following files within Source/Guidelines/en/*.xml:

  • BIB-Bibliography.xml

And lastly, I changed the double hyphens to em dashes in the HD-Header.xml within Source/Guidelines/fr/*.xml

@bleekere and I are going to address this ticket together @sydb. Do you recall which of the above should be reverted from em dashes to double hyphens?

I'm presuming that it is just the files that are related to the CMC chapter should be reverted back to double hyphens?

See related issue #16 for the Documentation repo TCW 20 where there are two double dashes that should be changed to em dashes
