Changelog:
2017-09-15 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* 7.0.0: release

2017-09-12 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Relicense qpdf under version 2.0 of the Apache License rather
than version 2.0 of the Artistic License. Both are fine, but the
Apache License is in more widespread use, and I like it a little
better than Artistic-2.0. It is my intention that there be no
change in what you can or can't do with qpdf. Versions of qpdf
prior to version 7 were released under the terms of version 2.0 of
the Artistic License. At your option, you may continue to consider
qpdf to be licensed under those terms. Please see the manual for
	additional information.

	* Improve the error message that is issued when QPDFWriter
encounters a stream that can't be decoded. In particular, mention
that the stream will be copied without filtering to avoid data
	loss.

	* Add new methods to the C API to correspond to new additions to
	QPDFWriter:
	- qpdf_set_compress_streams
	- qpdf_set_decode_level
	- qpdf_set_preserve_unreferenced_objects
	- qpdf_set_newline_before_endstream

2017-08-25 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Re-implement parser iteratively to avoid stack overflow on very
deeply nested arrays and dictionaries. Fixes TritonDataCenter#146.

	* Detect infinite loop while finding additional xref tables. Fixes
	TritonDataCenter#149.

2017-08-22 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* 7.0.b1: release

	* Convert all README files to markdown. Names changed as follows:
	  - README --> README.md
	  - README.hardening --> README-hardening.md
	  - README.maintainer --> README-maintainer.md
	  - README-what-to-download.txt --> README-what-to-download.md
	  - README-windows.txt --> README-windows.md
The file README-windows-install.txt remains a text file.

2017-08-21 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Add support for writing PCLm files. Most of the work was done by
Sahil Arora <sahilarora.535@gmail.com> as part of a Google Summer
of Code project in 2017. PCLm support is useful only for clients
that specifically know how to create PCLm files. Support in qpdf
is just for ensuring that objects are written in the correct order
and for including some additional material in the output that is
	required by the PCLm standard.

2017-08-19 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Remove --precheck-streams. This is enabled by default now
without any efficiency cost. This feature was never released.

	* Update pdf-create example to illustrate use of additional image
	compression filters.

	* Add support for /RunLengthDecode and /DCTDecode:
	  - New pipeline types Pl_RunLength and Pl_DCT
	  - New command-line flags --compress-streams and --decode-level
	    to replace/enhance --stream-data
	  - New QPDFWriter::setCompressStreams and
 	    QPDFWriter::setDecodeLevel methods
Please see documentation, header files, and help messages for
	  details on these new features.

2017-08-12 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Add QPDFObjectHandle::rotatePage to apply rotation to a page
object. Add --rotate option to qpdf to specify page rotation from
	the command line.

	* Provide --verbose option that causes qpdf to print an indication
of what files it is writing.

	* Change --single-pages to --split-pages and make it take an
optional argument specifying the number of pages per file.

2017-08-11 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Fix --newline-before-endstream to always add a newline before
endstream even if the last character was already a newline. This
is actually what's required by PDF/A. Fixes TritonDataCenter#133.

	* Handle encrypted files whose encryption parameters are too
	short. Fixes TritonDataCenter#96.

2017-08-10 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Remove dependency on libpcre.

	* Be more forgiving of certain types of errors in the xref table
that don't interfere with interpreting the table.

	* Remove unused "tracing" parameter from PointerHolder's
(T*, bool) constructor. This change breaks source code
compatibility, but since this argument to PointerHolder has not
used for a long time and the presence of a boolean parameter in
the primary constructor makes it too easy to use that by mistake
when trying to use PointerHolder for arrays, it seems like it's
finally time to take it out. If you have a compile error because
of this change, please check to see whether you intended to use
the (bool, T*) version of the constructor instead. If not, just
	remove the second parameter.

2017-08-09 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* When recovering stream length, find endobj without endstream as
well as just looking for endstream. Be a little more lax about
where we allow it to be found.

2017-08-05 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Add --single-pages option to cause output to be written to a
separate file for each page rather than one big file.

	* Process --pages options earlier so that certain inspection
options, like --show-pages, can show the state after the merging
	operations.

2017-08-02 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Fix off-by-one error in parsing pages options. Fixes TritonDataCenter#129.

2017-07-29 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Support @filename and @- in the qpdf command-line tool to read
command-line arguments, one per line, from the named file. @-
reads from standard input. Fixes TritonDataCenter#16.

	* Detect when input file and output file are the same and exit to
avoid overwriting and losing input file. Fixes TritonDataCenter#29.

	* When passing multiple inspection arguments, run --check first,
and defer exit until after all the checks have been run. This
makes it possible to force operations such as --show-xref to be
delayed until after recovery attempts have been made. For example,
if you have a file with a syntactically valid xref table that has
some offsets that are incorrect, running qpdf --check --show-xref
on that file will first recover the xref and the dump the
recovered xref, while just running qpdf --show-xref will show the
xref table as present in the file. Fixes TritonDataCenter#42.

	* When recovering stream length, indicate the recovered length.
	Fixes TritonDataCenter#44.

	* Add --newline-before-endstream command-line option and
setNewlineBeforeEndstream method to QPDFWriter. This forces qpdf
to always add a newline before the endstream keyword. It is a
necessary but not sufficient condition for PDF/A compliance. Fixes
	TritonDataCenter#103.

	* Handle zlib data errors when decoding streams. Fixes TritonDataCenter#106.

	* Improve handling of files where the "stream" keyword is not
followed by proper line terminators. Fixes TritonDataCenter#104.

	* Fix content stream parsing to handle cases of structures within
the stream split across stream boundaries. Fixes TritonDataCenter#73.

2017-07-28 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Add --preserve-unreferenced command-line option and
setPreserveUnreferencedObjects method to QPDFWriter. This option
causes QPDFWriter to write all objects from the input file to the
output file regardless of whether the objects are referenced.
Objects are written to the output file in numerical order from the
input file. This option has no effect for linearized files.

2017-07-27 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Add --precheck-streams command-line option and setStreamPrecheck
method to QPDFWriter to tell QPDFWriter to attempt decoding a
stream fully before deciding whether to filter it or not.

	* Recover gracefully from streams that aren't filterable because
the filter parameters are invalid in the stream dictionary or the
	dictionary itself is invalid.

	* Significantly improve recoverability from invalid qpdf objects.
Most conditions in basic object parsing that used to cause qpdf to
exit are now warnings. There are still many more opportunities for
improvements of this sort beyond just object parsing.

2017-07-26 Jay Berkenbilt <ejb@ql.org>

	* Fixes to infinite loops below also fix problems reported in
other issues and cover CVE-2017-11624, CVE-2017-11625,
	CVE-2017-11626, and CVE-2017-11627.

	* Don't attempt to interpret syntactic keywords (like R and
endobj) found while parsing content streams.

	* Detect infinite loops while resolving objects. This could happen
if something inside an object that had to be resolved during
parsing, such as a stream length, recursively referenced the
	object being resolved.

	* CVE-2017-9208: Handle references to and appearance of object 0
as a special case. Object 0 is not allowed, and qpdf was using it
	internally to represent direct objects.

	* CVE-2017-9209: Fix infinite loop caused by attempting to
reconstruct the xref table while already in the process of
	reconstructing the xref table.

	* CVE-2017-9210: Fix infinite loop caused by attempting to unparse
an object for inclusion in the text of an exception.

Version 1.1.0
-------------

Released 2018-10-26

- Change default signing algorithm back to SHA-1. (`#113`_)
- Added a default SHA-512 fallback for users who used the yanked 1.0.0
release which defaulted to SHA-512. (`#114`_)
- Add support for fallback algorithms during deserialization to
support changing the default in the future without breaking existing
    signatures. (`#113`_)
- Changed capitalization of packages back to lowercase as the change
in capitalization broke some tooling. (`#113`_)

Version 1.0.0
-------------

Released 2018-10-18

YANKED

*Note*: This release was yanked from PyPI because it changed the default
algorithm to SHA-512. This decision was reverted in 1.1.0 and it remains
at SHA1.

- Drop support for Python 2.6 and 3.3.
- Refactor code from a single module to a package. Any object in the
API docs is still importable from the top-level ``itsdangerous``
name, but other imports will need to be changed. A future release
will remove many of these compatibility imports. (`#107`_)
- Optimize how timestamps are serialized and deserialized. (`#13`_)
- ``base64_decode`` raises ``BadData`` when it is passed invalid data.
    (`#27`_)
- Ensure value is bytes when signing to avoid a ``TypeError`` on
    Python 3. (`#29`_)
- Add a ``serializer_kwargs`` argument to ``Serializer``, which is
    passed to ``dumps`` during ``dump_payload``. (`#36`_)
- More compact JSON dumps for unicode strings. (`#38`_)
- Use the full timestamp rather than an offset, allowing dates before
    2011. (`#46`_)
- Detect a ``sep`` character that may show up in the signature itself
    and raise a ``ValueError``. (`#62`_)
- Use a consistent signature for keyword arguments for
    ``Serializer.load_payload`` in subclasses. (`#74`_, `#75`_)
- Change default intermediate hash from SHA-1 to SHA-512. (`#80`_)
- Convert JWS exp header to an int when loading. (`#99`_)

Upstream changes:

Features
- add type CAA to libpyunbound (accessing libunbound from python).
- Fix #17: Add python module example from Jan Janak, that is a
plugin for the Unbound DNS resolver to resolve DNS records in
multicast DNS [RFC 6762] via Avahi. The plugin communicates
with Avahi via DBus. The comment section at the beginning of
  the file contains detailed documentation.
- travis build file.
- PR #16: XoT support, AXFR over TLS, turn it on with
master: <ip>#<authname> in unbound.conf. This uses TLS to
  download the AXFR (or IXFR).

Bug Fixes
- Fix for #4233: guard use of NDEBUG, so that it can be passed in
  CFLAGS into configure.
- Add log message, at verbosity 4, that says the query is encrypted
with TLS, if that is enabled for the query.
- Fix #4239: set NOTIMPL when deny-any is enabled, for RFC8482.
- Fix #4240: Fix whitespace cleanup in example.conf.
- Fix that tls-session-ticket-keys: "" on its own in unbound.conf
disables the tls session ticker key calls into the OpenSSL API.
- Fix crash if tls-servic-pem not filled in when necessary.
- Fix auth-zone NSEC3 response for empty nonterminals with exact
  match nsec3 records.
- Fix for out of bounds integers, thanks to OSTIF audit. It is in
  allocation debug code.
- Fix for auth zone nsec3 ent fix for wildcard nodata.
- Move goto label in answer_from_cache to the end of the function
  where it is more visible.
- Fix auth-zone NSEC3 response for wildcard nodata answers,
include the closest encloser in the answer.
- Fix spelling error in log output for event method.
- Fix to reinit event structure for accepted TCP (and TLS) sockets.
- Fix to use event_assign with libevent for thread-safety.
- verbose information about auth zone lookup process, also lookup
  start, timeout and fail.
- Fix to wipe ssl ticket keys from memory with explicit_bzero,
  if available.
- Fix that auth zone uses correct network type for sockets for
SOA serial probes. This fixes that probes fail because earlier
  probe addresses are unreachable.
- Fix that auth zone fails over to next master for timeout in tcp.
- Squelch SSL read and write connection reset by peer and broken pipe
messages. Verbosity 2 and higher enables them.
- Update python documentation for init_standard().
- Typos.
- Fix tls write event for read state change to re-call SSL_write and
  not resume the TLS handshake.
- Better braces in if statement in TCP fastopen code.
- iana portlist updated.
- Scrub RRs from answer section when reusing NXDOMAIN message for
  subdomain answers.
- For harden-below-nxdomain: do not consider a name to be non-exitent
when message contains a CNAME record.
- Fix wrong query name in local zone redirect answers with a CNAME,
the copy of the local alias is in unpacked form.
- contrib/fastrpz.patch updated for code changes, and with git diff.
- Fix #29: Solaris 11.3 and missing symbols be64toh, htobe64.
- Fix #30: AddressSanitizer finding in lookup3.c. This sets the
hash function to use a slower but better auditable code that does
not read beyond array boundaries. This makes code better security
checkable, and is better for security. It is fixed to be slower,
but not read outside of the array.
- Fix edns-subnet locks, in error cases the lock was not unlocked.
- Fix doxygen output error on readme markdown vignettes.
- Squelch log messages from tcp send about connection reset by peer.
They can be enabled with verbosity at higher values for diagnosing
  network connectivity issues.
- Attempt to fix malformed tcp response.
- Fix #31: swig 4.0 and python module.
- Note that so-reuseport at extreme load is better turned off,
otherwise queries are not distributed evenly, on Linux 4.4.x.
- Fix that spoolbuf is not used to store tcp pipelined response
between mesh send and callback end.
- Fix double file close in tcp pipelined response code.
- Fix to define _OPENBSD_SOURCE to get reallocarray on NetBSD.
- Fix to guard _OPENBSD_SOURCE from redefinition.

## 0.9 / 2019-09-04

* jtappa added the ability to skip fsync with a new option to Minitar.unpack
    and Minitar::Input#extract_entry. Provide `:fsync => false` as the last
parameter to enable. Merged from a modified version of PR [#37][].

## 0.8 / 2019-01-05

* inkstak resolved an issue introduced in the fix for [#31][] by allowing
spaces to be considered valid characters in strict octal handling. Octal
conversion ignores leading spaces. Merged from a slightly modified version
    of PR [#35][].

* dearblue contributed PR [#32][] providing an explicit call to #bytesize for
strings that include multibyte characters. The PR has been modified to be
compatible with older versions of Ruby and extend tests.

* Akinori MUSHA (knu) contributed PR [#36][] that treats certain badly
encoded regular files (with names ending in `/`) as if they were
    directories on decode.

## 0.7 / 2018-02-19

* Fixed issue [#28][] with a modified version of PR [#29][] covering the
security policy and position for Minitar. Thanks so much to ooooooo\_q for
the report and an initial patch. Additional information was added as
    [#30][].

* dearblue contributed PR [#33][] providing a fix for Minitar::Reader when
the IO-like object does not have a `#pos` method.

* Kevin McDermott contributed PR [#34][] so that an InvalidTarStream is
raised if the tar header is not valid, preventing incorrect streaming of
files from a non-tarfile. This is a minor breaking change, so the version
    has been bumped accordingly.

* Kazuyoshi Kato contributed PR [#26][] providing support for the GNU tar
    long filename extension.

* Addressed a potential DOS with negative size fields in tar headers
([#31][]). This has been handled in two ways: the size field in a tar
header is interpreted as a strict octal value and the Minitar reader will
raise an InvalidTarStream if the size ends up being negative anyway.

ChangeLog:

Features

The new remove-empty-columns and skip-trivial-records are
keystroke-savers for things which would other require DSL
    syntax, as tracked in #274.

Bugfixes

A bug regarding optional regex-pattern groups was fixed in
    #277.

As of #294 you can now specify --implicit-csv-header for the
    join-file in mlr join.

A bug with spaces in XTAB-file values was fixed on #296.

A bug with missing final newline for XTAB-formatted files
using MMAP files was fixed on #301.

Documentation

    Look-and-feel at http://johnkerl.org/miller/doc/ is (hopefully)
improved, including clearer visual indication of which section/page
you're currently looking at. Note that this change has been
live for a few weeks, as look-and-feel-related doc-mods from
    post-5.6.2 were backported to http://johnkerl.org/miller/doc/.

    #282 improves DSL-function documentation at
    http://johnkerl.org/miller/doc/reference-dsl.html#Built-in_functions_for_filter_and_put,_summary

Note

Support for mmap mode has been entirely discontinued. This is an
invisible change and should not affect you at all. For anyone
interested in lower-level details, though, the summary is as follows:

For an incremental performance gain (perhaps 10-20% run time
at most, but see below), within the C source code one can use
the mmap system call to access input files via pointer arithmetic
    rather than malloc-and-memcopy using stdio.

However mmap is not available when reading from standard
input -- it cannot be memory-mapped.

This means all file-format readers are implemented twice
    within the Miller source code.

While I try to regression-test Miller thoroughly, running
all canned tests through mmap and stdio mode, I've nonetheless
found my mmap implementations liable to corner-cases which I
miss but users find: for example #29, #102, and #296.

As tracked on #160, various operating systems do not release
mmapped pages after use as one might intuit, meaning that for
large files and/or large numbers of files, I've for a long time
now needed to have Miller opt out of mmap usage for precisely
those cases which most need the performance gain: see #160,
    #181, and #256.

Additionally, mmap is not used at all for Windows/MSYS2 so
there is nothing to lose there.

For these reasons, keeping mmap mode isn't worth the development
overhead.

As of release 5.6.3, the mlr executable will still accept the --mmap
and --no-mmap command-line flags as no-ops, for backward compatibility.

The caveat for you is that for everyday small files, the default
was previously mmap mode and is now stdio (except mlr ... < filename
or ... | mlr ... which have always used stdio). There is the off
chance that this will newly reveal an old, latent bug or two
somewhere.

I've re-run regressions in valgrind mode to aggressively catch any
errors, but, please let me know ASAP via GitHub issue of any
unexpected behavior in 5.7.0.

Patchlevel 7b (Oct 2019)

NEW FEATURES:
o A X color database is not needed, but can be provided. The location of
the database can be given at compile time, default /etc/X11/rgb.txt.

BUGS FIXED:
	Ticket numbers refer to https://sourceforge.net/p/mcj/tickets/#.
Debian bug numbers refer to https://bugs.debian.org/#.
o Do not clip objects with line-thickness 0 having arrows. Ticket #53.
o Do not segfault on circle/half circle arrowheads with a magnification
larger 42. Always draw circle arrowheads with 40 points. Ticket #52.
o Allow circles or ellipses with negative radii. Ticket #49.
o Avoid "dimension too large error" with tikz output by avoiding
	  coordinate values smaller than -16383.

o Correct a few memory leaks and corruptions. See commit d1c54f6.
o Change negative color numbers to default color. Fixes ticket #30.
o A spline with one point would cause segfault. Fixed, see ticket #29.
o Allow one char without newline in the last line of an input file.
	  Fixes ticket #28.
o Harden input, mainly against files in which an incomplete object would
be created and freeing the object would violate memory, i.e, it may
cause segfault. See, e.g., ticket #27.

## 2020 08 22

    - Fix RT #133166, encoding not set for -st. Also reported as RT #133171
      and git #35.

This is a significant bug in version 20200616 which can corrupt data if
perltidy is run as a filter on encoded text.
**Please upgrade**

    - Fix issue RT #133161, perltidy -html was not working on pod

    - Fix issue git #33, allow control of space after '->'

    - Vertical alignment has been improved. Numerous minor issues have
      been fixed.

    - Formatting with the -lp option is improved.

    - Fixed issue git #32, misparse of bare 'ref' in ternary

    - When --assert-tidy is used and triggers an error, the first difference
between input and output files is shown in the error output. This is
a partial response to issue git #30.

## 2020 06 19

    - Added support for Switch::Plain syntax, issue git #31.

    - Fixed minor problem where trailing 'unless' clauses were not
      getting vertically aligned.

    - Added a parameter --logical-padding or -lop to allow logical padding
to be turned off. Requested by git #29. This flag is on by default.
      The man pages have examples.

    - Added a parameter -kpit=n to control spaces inside of parens following
certain keywords, requested in git#26. This flag is off by default.

    - Added fix for git#25, improve vertical alignment for long lists with
varying numbers of items per line.

    - calls to the module Perl::Tidy can now capture any output produced
by a debug flag or one of the 'tee' flags through the new 'debugfile' and
'teefile' call parameters. These output streams are rarely used but
they are now treated the same as any 'logfile' stream.

    - add option --break-at-old-semicolon-breakpoints', -bos, requested
in RT#131644. This flag will keep lines beginning with a semicolon.

    - Added --use-unicode-gcstring to control use of Unicode::GCString for
evaluating character widths of encoded data. The default is
not to use this (--nouse-unicode-gcstring). If this flag is set,
perltidy will look for Unicode::GCString and, if found, will use it
to evaluate character display widths. This can improve displayed
vertical alignment for files with wide characters. It is a nice
feature but it is off by default to avoid conflicting formatting
when there are multiple developers. Perltidy installation does not
require Unicode::GCString, so users wanting to use this feature need
set this flag and also to install Unicode::GCString separately.

    - Added --character-encoding=guess or -guess to have perltidy guess
if a file (or other input stream) is encoded as -utf8 or some
other single-byte encoding. This is useful when processing a mixture
of file types, such as utf8 and latin-1.

Please Note: The default encoding has been set to be 'guess'
instead of 'none'. This seems like the best default, since
it allows perltidy work properly with both
utf8 files and older latin-1 files. The guess mode uses Encode::Guess,
which is included in standard perl distributions, and only tries to
guess if a file is utf8 or not, never any other encoding. If the guess is
utf8, and if the file successfully decodes as utf8, then it the encoding
is assumed to be utf8. Otherwise, no encoding is assumed.
If you do not want to use this new default guess mode, or have a
problem with it, you can set --character-encoding=none (the previous
default) or --character-encoding=utf8 (if you deal with utf8 files).

    - Specific encodings of input files other than utf8 may now be given, for
      example --character-encoding=euc-jp.

    - Fix for git#22, Preserve function signature on a single line. An
unwanted line break was being introduced when a closing signature paren
      followed a closing do brace.

    - Fix RT#132059, the -dac parameter was not working and caused an error exit

    - When -utf8 is used, any error output is encoded as utf8

    - Fix for git#19, adjust line break around an 'xor'

    - Fix for git#18, added warning for missing comma before unknown bare word.

# 1.2.2

* This version does not add an emoji hash to the output.

* The `source` column of the output data frame of `package_info()` (also
part of `session_info()`), now contains the full SHA for packages installed
from GitHub, instead of only the first seven characters. This makes it
easier to use the SHA programmatically. Note that this does not affect
formatting and printing, which still use the abbreviated SHA.
  (@muschellij2, #61).

* RStudio Package Manager (RSPM) and other repository sources are
now shown in the `source` column, if they set the `Repository`
  field in `DESCRIPTION`.

# 1.2.1

* `package_info()` and `session_info()` now do not fail if the version
number of an installed package is invalid.

* Better aliases for the list of attached, loaded and installed packages
  in `package_inf()` and `session_info()`.

# 1.2.0

* New function `external_info()`, information about external software.
It can be also requested with the new `info` argument of
  `session_info()` (@llrs).

* New function `python_info()`, information about Python configuration.
It is automatically included in `session_info()` if the reticulate
package is loaded and Python is available. You can also request it
manually via the new `info` argument of `session_info()` (#33).

* The output of `session_info()` now has an emoji hash, consisting of
three emojis. This allows quick comparison of two session infos (#26).

* All `*_info()` functions use ANSI colors on systems that support them.
In particular, it highlights unusual package versions and sources,
  and possible package problems (#3).

* New `session_diff()` function, to compare two session infos from
  various sources (#6).

* `session_info()` has a new argument named `info`, to select which parts
of the session information should be printed.

* `session_info()` now has a `to_file` argument, to write the output to a
  file (#30).

* `session_inf()` has a `dependencies` argument now, and passes it to
  `package_info()`.

* `package_info()` and `session_info()` can now list the attached or
installed packages, see the `pkgs` argument in the manual for
  details (#42).

* `platform_info()` and `session_info()` now include the Windows build
  number in the output (#40).

* sessioninfo now never wraps the output if the screen is too narrow (#31).

* All `*_info()` functions have a `format()` S3 method now.

* `platform_info()` and `session_info()` now include the RStudio version if
the R session is in RStudio (#29).

* The `source` column of the package list is now more informative.

#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-# Changes in TTR version 0.24.2 #-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#

BUG FIXES

  - Check for 'ratio > 0' before calculating 'n' in zlema() C code. The prior

#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-# Changes in TTR version 0.24.1 #-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#

BUG FIXES

  - Fix leading NA accounting in wma() C code. The prior code caused invalid
reads under valgrind. Thanks to Prof Brian Ripley for the report. (#99)

  - Check for 'ratio > 0' before calculating 'n' in ema() C code. The prior
code could result in division by 0, which was flagged by UBSAN. Thanks to
Prof Brian Ripley for the report. (#100)

  - Make ALMA() output length equal input length when the input can not be
converted to xts. This was caused by the difference between
rollapply.default() and rollapply.xts(). Thanks to GitHub user
    marksimmonds for the report. (#29)

  - Fix stoch() in very rare cases where fastK is Inf. I could only reproduce
this if the Close is > High and High and Low are equal, but that is a data
error. I fixed anyway because there may be other cases I don't anticipate.
Thanks to GitHub user cjuncosa for the report. (#52)

  - Fix MFI() when money flow is always zero or positive. The denominator of
the money ratio will be zero if there is no negative money flow for 'n'
consecutive observations (e.g. during a strong up-trend), which causes the
money flow index to be Inf. Set the money flow index to 100 in this case.

And the money ratio will be NaN if there's no money flow for 'n'
consecutive observations (e.g. if there are no trades), which causes the
money flow index to be NaN. Set the money flow index to 50 in this case.

Thanks to GitHub user jgehw for the report, reproducible example, and
    suggested patch. (#81)

#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-# Changes in TTR version 0.24.0 #-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#

SIGNIFICANT USER-VISIBLE CHANGES

  - Updated stockSymbols() to use the NASDAQ FTP site instead of downloading
the CSV from the NASDAQ stock screener page. Some columns are no longer
populated because they are not provided in the FTP file:
      LastSale ,MarketCap, IPOyear, Sector, Industry
These columns will be removed in a future version. (#98, #5, #97)

  - runPercentRank(x, n, cumulative = TRUE) now sets observations in the
initialization period to NA. This is consistent with the other
running/rolling functions in TTR. If you want the previous behavior,
    you should use runPercentRank(x, n = 1, cumulative = TRUE). Thanks to
GitHub user httassadar for the report. (#73)

NEW FEATURES

  - Add Ehler's Correlation Trend Indicator. Thanks to Evelyn Mitchell for
the suggestion, and for Ethan Smith for the initial implementation. (#92)

BUG FIXES

  - runMAD() returned incorrect values when 'cumulative = TRUE' and the input
contained leading NA. Thanks to GitHub user stellathecat for the report.
This also affected runMedian() also. (#93)

  - ZLEMA() would crash when 'ratio = 0.0' and 'n' was not specified. Thanks
to GitHub user yogat3ch for the report! (#95)

  - WMA() did not return an xts object when passed an xts object for 'x' that
had leading NA, with the default 'wts = 1:n'. Thanks to Cory Fletcher for
reporting this issue via email. (#96)

  - stoch() was wrong when 'bounded = FALSE'. Thanks to GitHub user rfinfun
for the report and patch. (#74)

  - HMA() threw an error when 'n' was an odd number. This was because the
first call to WMA() used 'n = n / 2' which caused 'n' to not be an
integer. Thanks to GitHub user dragie for the report. (#76)

3.5.0:
- Added the - force option
  - Allows a user to force the generation of digests for strings down to
    50 characters long

3.5.1:
- Fixed the error in the Python extension

3.5.2:
- Added the BlackHat Asia tool (presented at Arsenal)

3.7.0:
- merged in various fixes - ifdef for SPARC and RH73
- corrected TLSH_CTC_final.pdf
- added a SHA1 to the NOTICE.txt file
- improved the make.sh so that it calls the test.sh (and does
  regression tests)
- improved regression tests to confirm that the hash is calculated
  correctly in your environment
- fixed the header file C++ standard violation (reserved identifier
  violation #21)

3.7.1:

- resolving issue #38
- putting in fix in rand_tags.cpp so that it generates identical output
to previous version while safely working with pointers

3.9.2:
- Also merged the contents of NOTICE.txt into LICENSE. This was done
because NOTICE.txt is sometimes accidently removed when people clone
this repository. And the LICENSE specifically states that NOTICE.txt
  should NOT be removed.
- Also added command line option -notice which displays the
  NOTICE.txt file

3.9.3:
- currently tlsh_pattern returns all the matches
modify tlsh_pattern to return the best match
- remove the newline from the input fields when reading in the
  tlsh_pattern file

call sequences to update() and final()

3.9.5:
- issue #61: added a command line option -notest - do not do any testing

3.9.6:
- Have a cmake option to build tlsh with a zero byte checksum
  (development / research option)
- Default build has 1 byte checksum - which is strongly recommended

3.9.7:
- resolving issue #50 for bin/timing_unittest

3.9.8:
- timing_unittest measures the time taken to do distance calculations
- add a command line option -size - so that you can measure the time
taken to evaluate different sizes of string

  2. remove declaration of unsigned r which is never used
  3. remove #include which is not required

3.12.0:
- remove floating point calculations such as log() function
  use alookup table instead

3.13.0:
- .vcproj files and instructions for builing TLSH on Windows using
  Visual Studio

- fixing error in test script for -xlen option (print statements about
  considering length were incorrect)
- improved test.sh - tests for existance of expected output files

3.15.0:
- Refactor code - so that input of directory or digest is in a struct.
The code to process input is in library code (input_desc.cpp,
shared_file_functions.cpp). The input routines can be used by
myultiple programs. Also, preparing for things like csv input files.

3.15.1:
- added command line option -help to show full help information

This is libunibreak, an implementation of the line breaking and
word/grapheme breaking algorithms as described in [Unicode Standard
Annex 14][1] (UAX #14) and [Unicode Standard Annex 29][2] (UAX #29).

As of February 2024, Unicode 15.0 support for line breaking, as well as
full Unicode 15.1 support for word/grapheme breaking, is provided.
There is currently no plan to implement full Unicode 15.1 support for
line breaking, mostly because tailoring for Brahmic scripts, as
described in LB28a of UAX #14-51, is problematic within the current
framework.

v1.4.0
Released 2024-03-21
Features:
 - Custom commands can now specify an interpreter to use on a per-command basis.
If a command uses a shebang #! line then the command's text will be passed as the
next argument to the specified command. For example, using #!python3 -c as the
first line in a custom command will cause python3 -c <command> to be executed.

 - Trees can now use branches defined in separate remotes when configuring the
default branch to checkout. garden grow will now fetch the remote associated with the
configured branch switching branches in order to make this possible.

 - Trees can now use any upstream branch from any configured remote in the branches section.
Previously, branches associated with non-default remotes could not be created unless
they were fetched beforehand. garden grow will now fetch the associated remote
before creating the local branch.

 - garden grow now detects empty directories (e.g. the directories that are created
when using uninitialized Git submodules) and will properly clone into the empty directories
instead of treating them like an already-grown tree.
(#30)

Development:
 - garden can now be built on Windows. Symlink trees and the XDG base directory support
is UNIX-only and disabled on Windows.
(#17)

 - yaml-rust2 is now used instead of
the yaml-rust-davvid fork that was
being maintained by @davvid for use by garden.
(#29)

 * fix: continue producing progress output when the output is blocking writes ([#34](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/34), [#86](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/86), [#87](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/87))
 * fix: honour the _TMPDIR_ / _TMP_ environment variables again, rather than hard-coding "`/tmp`", when using a terminal lock file (originally removed in 1.8.0) ([#88](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/88))
 * i18n: corrections and missing strings added to French translations (pull request [#83](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/pulls/83)) supplied by [Thomas Bertels](https://codeberg.org/tbertels)

 * fix: corrected percentage formatting so it doesn't jump from 2 to 3 characters wide at 100% ([#80](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/80))
 * fix: replaced "`--remote`" mechanism, using a temporary file instead of SysV IPC, so it can work reliably even when there are multiple PV instances
 * fix: corrected compilation failure when without IPC support
 * security: addressed all issues highlighted by the software auditing tools "`splint`" and "`flawfinder`" (see "`make analyse`") ([#77](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/77))

### 1.8.0 - 24 September 2023

#### Features

 * feature: new "`--discard`" option to discard input as if writing to */dev/null* ([#42](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/42))
 * feature: new "`--error-skip-block`" option to make "`--skip-errors`" skip whole blocks ([#37](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/37))
 * feature: use `posix_fadvise()` like `cat`(1) does, to improve efficiency ([#39](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/39))
 * feature: new "`--enable-static`" option to "`configure`" for static builds ([#75](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/pull/75))

#### Security

 * security: with "`--pidfile`", write to a temporary file and rename it into place, to improve security
 * security: keep self-contained copies of name and format string in PV internal state for memory safety
 * security: ignore _TMP_ / _TMPDIR_ environment variables when using a terminal lock file

#### Fixes

 * fix: only report errors about missing files when starting to transfer from them, not while calculating size, and behave more like `cat`(1) by skipping them and moving on
 * fix: auto-calculate total line count with "`--line-mode`" when all inputs are regular files
 * fix: use `clock_gettime()` in ETA calculation to cope with machine suspend/resume ([#13](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/13))
 * fix: if "`--width`" or "`--height`" were provided, do not change them when the window size changes ([#36](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/36))
 * fix: when a file descriptor position in "`--watchfd`" moves backwards, show the rate using the correct prefix ([#41](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/41))
 * fix: rewrite terminal state save/restore so state is not intermittently garbled on exit when using "`--cursor`" ([#20](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/20)), ([#24](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/24))

#### Cleanups

 * cleanup: addressed many potential issues highlighted by the software auditing tools "`splint`" and "`flawfinder`" (see new target "`make analyse`")
 * cleanup: switched the build system to GNU Automake
 * cleanup: replaced the test harness with the one native to GNU Automake
 * cleanup: added a test for terminal width detection to "`make check`"
 * cleanup: added a test to "`make check`" to ensure that "`make install`" installs everything expected
 * cleanup: replaced *AC_HEADER_TIOCGWINSZ* with *AC_CHECK_HEADERS(sys/ioctl.h)* for better MacOS compatibility ([#74](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/74))
 * cleanup: with "`--sync`", call `fsync()` instead of `fdatasync()` on incapable systems ([#73](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/73))
 * cleanup: the manual is now a static file instead of needing to be built with "`configure`"

#### Dropped items

 * dropped: dropped support for "`--enable-static-nls`"
 * dropped: removed the Linux Software Map file, as the LSM project appears to be long dead
 * dropped: will no longer publish to SourceForge as it has a chequered history and is unnecessary
 * dropped: removed project from GitHub and moved to Codeberg - see "[Give Up GitHub](https://giveupgithub.org/)"

#### Other items

 * licensing change from Artistic 2.0 to GPLv3+

### 1.7.24 - 30 July 2023

 * cleanup: added "`make analyse`" to run "`splint`" and "`flawfinder`" on all source files
 * cleanup: corrected detection of boolean capability
 * cleanup: word wrapping of "`--help`" output is now multi-byte locale aware
 * cleanup: adjusted "`indent`" rules to line length of 120 and reformatted code

### 1.7.18 - 28 July 2023

 * fix: language file installation had been broken by the configuration script rewrite

### 1.7.17 - 27 July 2023

 * feature: new "`--sync`" option to flush cache to disk after every write (related to [#6](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/6), to improve accuracy when writing to slow disks)
 * feature: new "`--direct-io`" option to bypass cache - implements [#29 "Option to enable *O_DIRECT*"](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/issues/29) - requested by Romain Kang, Jacek Wielemborek
 * fix: correct byte prefix size to 2 spaces in rate display, so progress display size remains constant at low transfer rates
 * cleanup: rewrote `configure.in` as per suggestions in newer "`autoconf`" manuals
 * cleanup: replaced `header.in` with one generated by "`autoheader`", moving custom logic to a separate header file "`config-aux.h`"
 * cleanup: added copyright notice to all source files as per GNU standards
 * cleanup: changed "`--version`" output to conform to GNU standards
 * cleanup: replaced backticks with `$()` in all shell scripts that did not come from elsewhere, as backticks are deprecated and harder to read
 * cleanup: improved the output formatting of "`make test`"
 * cleanup: extended the "`make test`" mechanism to allow certain tests to be skipped on platforms that cannot support them
 * cleanup: skip the "pipe" test (for *SIGPIPE*) if GNU "`head`" is not available, so that "`make test`" on stock OpenBSD 7.3 works

 * feature: the "`--watchfd`" option is now available on OS X (pull request [#60](https://codeberg.org/a-j-wood/pv/pull/60) supplied by [christoph-zededa](https://github.com/christoph-zededa))
