@kba, does this also apply to the older ALTO versions? I found no CC-BY-SA there.

Addendum: https://github.com/altoxml/schema/blob/master/v3/alto-3-2-draft.xsd also includes the license, but in older versions it seems to be missing. What about adding a LICENSE file in the root (so GitHub can also show the license)?

I am not sure about retrospective licensing, so I passed it on: altoxml/schema#37 (comment)

So according to the discussion, I think we simply need either two lines or a single line with two license remarks for ALTO to describe the situation.
