Starting ViewTouch: runonce, vtpos, Directories & Files

The command to run ViewTouch the first time is /usr/viewtouch/bin/vtpos The command to run ViewTouch after the first time is /usr/viewtouch/bin/runonce

These 5 files are created automatically in /usr/viewtouch/dat/ the first time vtpos runs.

  • error_log.txt
  • media-archive.dat
  • .restart_flag
  • settings-archives.dat
  • settings.dat

These 14 directories and 2 files are created automatically in /usr/viewtouch/dat/ the first time runonce runs.

  • /accounts/
  • /archive/
  • /backups/
  • /current/
  • /customers/
  • /expenses/
  • /html/
  • /labor/
  • /languages/
  • /pageexports/
  • /pageimports/
  • /stock/
  • /text/
  • /updates/
  • debuglog
  • runlog

These directories must exist in /usr/viewtouch

  • bin
  • css
  • dat
  • graphics

These directories should exist in /usr/viewtouch/dat/ and should be created if they do not exist.

  • /conf/
  • /screensaver/

These files at http://www.viewtouch.com/vt_data.html should be downloaded.

  • fastfood.ini fees.ini tax.ini
  • exception.dat
  • locale.dat

These files are needed and their initial state must be downloaded.

  • vt_data
  • tables.dat
  • menu.dat
  • zone_db.dat
