Self Hosting on Raspberry Pi Issue

Managed to install the add-on from source on Raspberry Pi. Opened the configuration using http://localhost:3000/configure
Then I copy the URL in the bottom of the page to install the add-on in Stremio but Stremio gives me this error:
failed to get add-on manifest from [URL.manifest.json] failed to fetch. load failed
How can i fix this? @Viren070

You need HTTPS to install the addon on Stremio unless accessing on the same device it's being hosted on.

A log indicating that HTTPS is required to install the addon on other devices?

That is standard for every Stremio addon, I can add a note in the self hosting docs, but it wouldn't make sense to add it to the logs of the addon.

I'm planning to rewrite that section of the docs with a guide on using Traefik and docker.

The specific thing is this: I installed AIOStreams as a single container via Docker to a Raspberry Pi server, to test it with Streamio. When I tried to generate manifest url everything looks smooth:

Since I'm new to the entire streamio thing, I checked Docker for logs when I got the copy error but found nothing.
Then tried to dig into code but my React experience is too low for that.

At the end, for verifying if the error is because of the HTTPS, I deployed your app into my Kubernetes cluster with these files:

Like I said, this is the case for every Stremio addon.

The reason the copy button didn't work is because the clipboard API is only available in secure contexts (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Navigator/clipboard). There were no logs in docker either since the configure page is run client side (not on the server), you might've found logs in the browser console.

The addon can't tell you that you weren't able to install the addon due to HTTPS because Stremio won't make the request to the addon without HTTPS, so the addon has no way of knowing this.

Can't we somehow know we are not accessing the ui via https and print a warning about it?
From what I see it would save many hours for many users.

We can, but you can still install the addon through HTTP when accessing the addon from the same device its being hosted on.

I think a small note in the docs saying HTTPS is required for installing the addon (on a device different to the one its being hosted on) is enough.

To anyone who stumbles into this thread, if you encounter this error:

Failed to fetch: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.

with AIOStreams self hosting, you need to find a way to use HTTPS.
