WinSystems C444 Yocto Layer README

Welcome to the official GitHub repository for the WinSystems C444 Yocto Layer. This layer is specifically designed for building images for the WinSystems ITX-P-C444 Board and the SYS-C444 system.

Development Machine Requirements

• Minimum 8GB of memory
• 315GB of available disk space
• Ubuntu 20.04 or equivalent

Quick Start Guide

1. Install Dependencies:

   sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
   sudo apt install gawk wget git-core diffstat unzip texinfo gcc-multilib build-essential chrpath socat libsdl1.2-dev xterm sed cvs subversion coreutils texi2html docbook-utils python-pysqlite2 help2man make gcc g++ desktop-file-utils libgl1-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa-dev mercurial autoconf automake groff curl lzop asciidoc u-boot-tools python

2. Set Up Environment:

   mkdir ~/winYocto
   git config --global user.name "Your Name"
   git config --global user.email "Your Email"
   mkdir ~/bin
   curl https://storage.googleapis.com/git-repo-downloads/repo > ~/bin/repo
   chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
   export PATH=~/bin:$PATH

3. Download Yocto Project Layers:

   cd ~/winYocto
   repo init -u https://github.com/WinSystems/c444-manifest.git -b 5.15 -m itx-p-c444_5.15.32.xml
   repo sync

4. Build the Image:

   MACHINE=imx8mq-itx-p-c444 DISTRO=c444-xwayland source winsys-setup-release.sh -b build
   ulimit -n 10000
   bitbake -k winsys-image-demo
