Given the native implementation relies on a separate file, I am fairly confident the changes would not introduce regressions for the mobile editor. I also perceive the changes as unrelated to the current mobile editor experience, so I do not believe we need to apply the changes to the mobile editor either. I quickly tested the Highlight feature on an iPhone 15 Pro simulator and did not note any unexpected behaviors. 👍🏻 |

I don't have any objections. Caching feel like we're ignoring the underlying issue though. I don't have much time to look into it atm. |

Alright, then I say we merge this issue now. @t-hamano , would ou have capacity to investigate the issue further and see if we can find the real cause for it? Maybe we could start by disabling caching completely and seeing what happens? |

This fix causes the popover to always appear under the same element when multiple highlights are present within a block.

What?
This PR attempts to resolve an issue where popovers jump when applying inline highlighting to text.
Why?
This popover caches the
popoverAnchorto maintain its position and prevent "jumping" when the inline highlight is applied.However, as mentioned in this comment by @ciampo, when text is surrounded by the
markelement, the position seems to be out of sync for some reason.How?
I'm not sure if this approach is ideal, but caching only
getBoundingClientRect()seems to solve the problem. If you have a more ideal approach, please let me know.Testing Instructions
