What feature would you like to see?

HERCs are kinda weak (only a bit useful in their mission). In order to make them more viable, following upgrades were suggested:

  • Cost 75/0/2
  • +2 Armor
  • +some HP

I like the idea of their grapple getting a stun effect as an upgrade, to make their tendency to just leap into combat out of nowhere less costly.

I suggested a bunch of stuff in the shared ideas sheet, but never brought it up for actual discussion...

TLDR:

  • HERCs have a bunch of overlap with Firebats as the "tanky infantry with short-range splash" unit; what Firebats have is the ability to form a frontline, whereas HERCs just sorta dive in.
  • HERC upgrades should support that identity - they're likely to end up right in the middle of enemy units, rather than pressing up against a wall of zerglings/infested

Upgrades I suggested:

  • stacking attack speed increase as they stay in combat (stolen from tychus co-op)
  • reduced cost (75/75/2), they gotta cost SOME gas for all those stats they have - 20 damage per hit in a cone! - but 3 supply is too much
  • some additional effect on grapple; stun effect is simple, but I feel like it just makes them into Centurions, so I suggested making them knock enemies aside along their path. Not sure how doable that is in editor and haven't had time to toy with it
  • (note: reworked from a Hercules upgrade I was suggesting for the meme) When they take damage from an enemy, they gain 5 sec of +3 armor and Immolation aura. 60 second cooldown.

My opinion: maybe we take 2 or 3 from the set above and then add some less game-changing upgrades, like bonus health or grapple range or something.

I remember someone saying their "immunity to acid" was only immunity to volatile infested, not to banelings. Would be good to double-check that and make them properly immune to banelings or -75% or something.
