Change version to 1.0.0-alpha.1

We have recently decided that we believe this product to still be at an
early stage of development and not suitable for production use (see
065c9fc). We are going to remove our current "Preview", "Beta", and
"Release Candidate" releases and replace them with an Alpha release,
which more accurately describes the state of this product when
interpreted using our Product Lifecycle terminology [1].
