This is on Linux.
As it turns out the Ubuntu-provided donet as well as the dotnet provided by Microsoft and installed with a script as well as the dotnet provided by Microsoft and installed as a Debian package all are missing a few files that are only present in the dotnet tarball provided by Microsoft.
