This seemed like a good idea at the time, but the complexity seems not to be worth it.

--- END COMMIT MESSAGE ---

  • Use a conventional commits prefix: quick summary
    • We mostly use feat, fix, refactor, docs, chore and build types.
  • A milestone will be assigned by one of the maintainers

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests

    • Removed legacy tests that verified compile-time constraints and specific immutability checks.
    • Added new unit tests for various components related to track parameters and measurement helpers.
  • Chores

    • Streamlined the build process by eliminating outdated test-handling logic.

These updates enhance test coverage and clean up internal testing infrastructure without impacting end-user functionality.

Walkthrough

Removed, much of the non-compilation test infrastructure has been. Deleted are helper macros in a dedicated header and the function that added non-compilation tests in CMake. Additionally, a suite of unit tests checking const correctness for TrackContainer no longer exists. Simplified, the test framework now is.

Changes

File(s) Change Summary
Tests/CommonHelpers/.../NonCompileTestHelpers.hpp, Tests/UnitTests/CMakeLists.txt Removed macros for non-compiling test suites and the function add_non_compile_test.
Tests/UnitTests/Core/EventData/TrackContainerComplianceTests.cpp Removed unit tests ensuring TrackContainer compliance and const correctness.
Tests/UnitTests/Core/EventData/CMakeLists.txt Added multiple unit tests for various components, removed non-compile test for MultiTrajectory.

Poem

In code’s vast galaxy, change we bring,
Test macros vanish, like shadows they wing.
Removed our non-compiling paths, we have,
Simplified our build, peace does it salve.
May the force of clean code guide each line, always.

    • Generate unit testing code for this file.
    • Open a follow-up GitHub issue for this discussion.
  • Files and specific lines of code (under the "Files changed" tab): Tag @coderabbitai in a new review comment at the desired location with your query. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai generate unit testing code for this file.
    • @coderabbitai modularize this function.
  • PR comments: Tag @coderabbitai in a new PR comment to ask questions about the PR branch. For the best results, please provide a very specific query, as very limited context is provided in this mode. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai gather interesting stats about this repository and render them as a table. Additionally, render a pie chart showing the language distribution in the codebase.
    • @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and generate unit testing code.
    • @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.
    • @coderabbitai help me debug CodeRabbit configuration file.

Note: Be mindful of the bot's finite context window. It's strongly recommended to break down tasks such as reading entire modules into smaller chunks. For a focused discussion, use review comments to chat about specific files and their changes, instead of using the PR comments.
