Can't add folders #14
Comments
I can not even add my desktop folder. |
I was able to fix this problem by moving my Belevedere folder out of the program files. sees like I was having a permissions problem writing to the .ini file. running from another location seems to work. |
Glad it worked. I struggled for a while to. Now working well for me. On Sunday, February 10, 2013, Martini88 wrote:

I experienced this after I encountered a problem when I assigned Belvedere to empty the Recycle Bin after a defined interval. I also wasn't able to add folders and add rules. To fix this, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)" or where ever you installed Belvedere. Right click on the folder > Click on "Properties" > "Security" tab > "Edit" > Select "CREATOR OWNER" > Check Full Control (Allow). Also, assign full control to "Administrators" and "Users". |
I ran into the same problem as gianpaolo. On my machine (Win7) I had to change permisions for the "User" user on the rules file. |
I know this is an old post, but I landed here from Google with the same issue, so I'll post the solution I found (which differs from those above) for future seekers. Basically, I fixed this same issue by running Belvedere as an Administrator. If you run Belvedere only incidentally, just right click the shortcut to do so. If you have it in your Startup folder, just set it to run as Administrator within the compatibility settings in the shortcut file properties from there. FYI, because it can be tricky to find the Startup folder in Windows 8+, you can get there directly by typing "Startup" in the address bar of any Explorer (i.e. file folder) window. |
I was successfully able to add my desktop folder to be managed, but can't add any others. Thoughts?
