Allow groove and melody to be different lengths and speeds

A lot of interesting musical effects could be achieved by combing groove and melody of different lengths and speeds.

Example: a groove of length 16, speed 1/16th notes, with a melody of length 2, speed whole notes. This would create a call and response pattern, where a rhythm is played on one note and then repeated on another note on the next bar.
