Introduction

Tired of the boring banners and advertisements you continuously see while you're browsing the net? This set of scripts allows you to configure a Bind9 DNS Server so to filter out all that ads, plus tracking and malware activities, and keep blacklists and whitelists updated.

I have already heard that somewhere...

The most widely used ads sinkhole is probably Pi-Hole. I tried hard with this guy, but, since I tailored my DNS and DHCP configuration on my needs, It's been very hard (read: impossible) to make Pi-Hole work together with my network configuration. The main problem was that, to have all Pi-Hole features enabled, I had to configure it as the main DNS and DHCP server of my network.
Since I had already customized all my configuration (Dynamic DNS, DHCP, guest network addressing, custom zones, etc.), and I didn't want to reconfigure everything from scratch, I decided to try to setup a DNS sinkhole by my own.

Wait a moment: Pi-Hole is great!

Just to be clear: Pi-Hole is a great project. It works great, and if you don't need any kind of customization, I encourage you try it.
Instead, if you want to have complete control on your RPZ configuration, or you simply want to try something new, please, follow this project.
