Performing backups

My addons are automatically updated. This means they can (and will) break if major upstream changes are done.

HomeAssistant doesn't allow to install a specific addon version. As such, your best way to avodi data loss and work continuity is to have backups to restore in case of issues.

The best addon I've found for that is Home Assistant Google Drive Backup.

I've set it to have a weekly backup of my whole system (all system folders plus addons). This allows to reinstall a previous version if something stopped working.

Beware that for some addons you need to activate an option within Google Drive Backup to stop them prior to backup to allow a correct restore.
