TODO

Sail section

  • Clickable story balloons
  • Maybe use different buttons for story navigation
    • Buttons could be below timeline, but mobile is tricky because there isn't much room. Maybe they can move a little to the right, and still overlap if necessary.
  • Use SVGs for boat icons where possible
  • Smooth transition for story navigation
  • Pan to balloon for story button click, but not for dragging the timeline thumb

Code section

  • There should be more examples, but I'm not sure what to add. The sail section seems higher priority.

create-svelte

Everything you need to build a Svelte project, powered by create-svelte.

Creating a project

If you're seeing this, you've probably already done this step. Congrats!

# create a new project in the current directory
npm init svelte

# create a new project in my-app
npm init svelte my-app

Developing

Once you've created a project and installed dependencies with npm install (or pnpm install or yarn), start a development server:

npm run dev

# or start the server and open the app in a new browser tab
npm run dev -- --open

Building

To create a production version of your app:

npm run build

You can preview the production build with npm run preview.

To deploy your app, you may need to install an adapter for your target environment.

Data

The GPS data was retrieved from the Garmin explore website from the map page. The GPX data was used to convert to GeoJSON using the @mapbox/togejson npm package.
