The real reason why pymongo tests are broken is because mongomock does not support pymongo 4.11+ . They are looking for maintainers and there is an issue opened for this particular issue: mongomock/mongomock#912 so hopefully the problem will be solved soon (apparently there are people who volunteer as maintainers there).
