A place for frequently used python wheels that are not available out of the box

Opencv with Gstreamer and CUDA:

  • Install the prerequisites:
sudo apt install build-essential
sudo apt install cmake git libgtk-3-dev libgtk2.0-dev pkg-config libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libswscale-dev
sudo apt install python-dev python-numpy libtbb2 libtbb-dev libjpeg-dev libpng-dev libtiff-dev libdc1394-22-dev
sudo apt install python3-dev python3-pip python3-numpy
  • Install gstreamer:
sudo apt install libgstreamer1.0-0 gstreamer1.0-plugins-base gstreamer1.0-plugins-good \
gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly gstreamer1.0-libav gstreamer1.0-doc \
gstreamer1.0-tools gstreamer1.0-x gstreamer1.0-alsa gstreamer1.0-gl gstreamer1.0-gtk3 \
gstreamer1.0-qt5 gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio
sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras
sudo apt install libgstreamer1.0-dev libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-dev
  • Clone the project(s):
VERSION=4.4.0
git clone https://github.com/opencv/opencv.git -b $VERSION --depth 1

(optional: for contrib including non-free modules)

  • Configure the build:

Note:(If you decide to build the contrib modules then set add -D OPENCV_EXTRA_MODULES_PATH=../../opencv_contrib/modules/ in the above)

Note:For cudnn, use the appropriate path e.g. -D CUDNN_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/cuda-10.1/targets/x86_64-linux/

Note: In case Openblas is not-detected, please follow the steps in opencv/opencv#12957

  1. Gstreamer: If it does not show 'YES' then please check the installation of libgstreamer1.0-dev and libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-dev and the gstreamer lib package
