Introduction

This project is a simple example of using the NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-6 Dx SmartNIC to offload the packet processing to the GPU.

We implemented a simple matrix multiplication server, where the NIC will directly put the packet to the GPU memory, and GPU will perform the packet processing which includes parse the structure of the message, and put the floats to the correct position in the matrix. And then the GPU will perform the matrix multiplication and send the result back to the client.

The key idea of this application is that, we can eliminate the CPU packet processing overhead, and heavily memory copy overhead.

We will put some results compared to DPDK implementation in the README.md soon.
