may be useful because in pathdb, we may need to lag disk from what's last accepted to deal with the way the txpool operates (expects to operate on it's currentState, which it periodically updates from the chain). (keep diff layers)
Otherwise, need to redesign the txpool to operate off of most-recent state, but not modifying the txpool seems easier now.
