Release 1.3
With this major version, we have introduced the concept of sign "types."
Currently, we have split the signs into those that are part of the official LA Historical Markers program and lumped all others together. The two different sign types are distinguished visually within the app by color. You can now specify what type of sign you are entering as part of the submission workflow, and you can even filter the main view by which sign type you would like to view.
We also squashed a handful of bugs and generally tried to improve the way the app functions.
Release 1.2.2
We have a new app icon! It's a lot like the old icon, but brighter and nicer.
This release also introduces the "Go" button. When viewing a particular marker, hit "GO" to open directions in your navigation app of choice. We currently support Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze.
This release also addresses several bugs:
- Markers should no longer flash as you move around (that one was annoying us).
- Name and Description should no longer clear when the app is backgrounded
- On smaller devices, the submission workflow could not be completed (we hope we didn't miss out on too many submissions!)
Release 1.2.0
This version contains the new Marker Submission workflow, as well as various UI improvements and bug fixes.
1.1.1 Release - The First Ever Patch
This release includes several bug fixes related to entering marker submissions.
It also includes a new User Report feature, which allows users to communicate if a marker is missing, contains a typo, etc, as well as some other features to increase compliance with Apple's policies on user-generated content.
1.1 Release - Map Improvements and Marker Photos
This release improves how we handle map navigation - including ensuring that the distances between you and the markers update if appropriate permissions are given.
It also brings support for photos! You can now take a picture of the marker (or select a picture you've already taken) and include it with your submission, so others can see what it looks like.
1.0 Release
LA Historical Markers is officially out on iOS and Android! I'm looking for volunteers to begin test driving the app by making submissions whenever possible.
