sam-local npm install stuck at "Downloading from URL"

npm is stuck at "Downloading from URL: https://github.com/awslabs/aws-sam-local/releases/download/v0.2.10/sam_0.2.10_linux_amd64.tar.gz". I checked and NPM is also not using any network resources. It is not downloading the files at all.

I am using ubuntu 16.04 LTS and npm version 3.10.10.

Closing this issue as I found a workaround. The problem was not with npm or SAM, downloading GitHub releases from my geographical location(India) is extremely slow. So I used a VPN to download the deb release of sam-local. :)
