Date not displaying correctly in .csv or .xml files.

The date saved looks good in print.
When i export to .csv or .xml, the date is in a long string of numbers.
Example: 1409167417
Is that a Unix date code or something?
Can it be displayed correctly?
Can the order be switch for US? mm/dd/yyy hh;mm?
