incompatible_disable_sysroot_from_configuration: libc_top should be set by attribute #6565
Comments
The new incompatible change flag will be available in the 0.20 release, and the default value will be flipped to |
If people do that, will it work without the flag? |
Yes, the migration is backwards compatible. |

Previously Bazel would fall back to using the embedded JDK as a --javabase, but this is no longer default behaviour. A JDK should be explicitly installed instead to enable Java development - Bazel will now shut down when idle for 5 minutes and the system is low on RAM (linux only). - CROSSTOOL file is now read from the package of cc_toolchain, not from the package of cc_toolchain_suite. This is not expected to break anybody since cc_toolchain_suite and cc_toolchain are commonly in the same package. - All overrides of Starlark's ctx.new_file function are now deprecated. Migration is done and legacy code is removed. |
Flag: --incompatible_disable_sysroot_from_configuration
Available since: 0.20
Will be flipped in: 0.21
Enclosing tracking issue: #6543
The sysroot (also called
grte_top
andlibc_top
) was previously set by default in the CROSSTOOL file, using thedefault_grte_top
property. As this is a build label, and creates a new dependency in the build, it needs to be moved into an actual build target. The
cc_toolchain
rule now has an attribute calledlibc_top
that is used to set this value.Migration notes:
To migrate, remove any
default_grte_top
properties in your CROSSTOOL file, and set thelibc_top
attribute on the correspondingcc_toolchain
target to be the same value. Thelibc_top
needs to be a fully-qualified label, so in many cases the value from CROSSTOOL will need to have:everything
added to refer to a specific target. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
